Lunch n Learn: Selling near Government Land
This class is pending approval for 1 CE
Presented by the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), this presentation will cover the issues that arise when the government owns land adjacent to a residential properties.
Currently, there is a long list of encroachments already around the Coralville Lake area in Iowa City, North Liberty, and respective communities to the lake and Iowa River, where property owners encroach, build upon, or destroy taxpayer lands.
The goal of this course is to help REALTORS be able to spot some of these problems as well for clients, and give an idea to what the city looks for and requires out of adjacent property owners with government land. It will also provide the process when clients need to apply for a permit or license to make certain changes.
There will be a short presentation on current boundaries, what consitutes as encroachments and tresspasses, as well as some information on what expectations are so that REALTORS can provide that information to your clients. Following the presentation will be a Q&A session.
