Developing Professionalism - Oct 2009Class Type: Pre-License
To obtain your real estate license you are required to attend a 60-hour real estate salesperson pre-license exam prep course and 36 hours of practical training. The 36 hours of practical training are divided into 3 12-hour sessions: Listing Practices, Buying Practices and Developing Professionalism. Each session is one weekend. These courses will teach you the basics of being a real estate agent. You will be required to attend each full session to receive your certificates. You will need these certificates to apply for your license. ***These courses also count as First Time Renewal Courses for agents who received their license between January 1, 2007 and January 1, 2009. Anyone arriving late (no matter how little) "shall not" receive a certificate. Please click here to read more. Beginning January 1, 2009, educational requirements to receive a license will be raised. In addition to the 60-hour pre-license course, students will be required to take the 36 hours of education that were originally required in the first 3 years. The new law will require that the three 12 hour courses (Listing Practices, Buying Practices and Developing Professional Conduct & Ethical Practices) be taken before a student can apply for a license.
