About the ExamAbout the Exam Number of Questions: 120 When you complete the examination, your total score, pass/fail indication, and subscores for each section of the examination will be reported to you immediately on the computer terminal. A written score report will also be printed at that time. Your score will be reported to the Iowa Real Estate Commission within two business days. Examination results are confidential and will only be reported to you and the Iowa Real Estate Commission. If you pass the examination, you will receive a real estate license application form with your score report. You are responsible for submitting your application to the Iowa Real Estate Commission no later than the last working day of the sixth month after the qualifying examination date. If you do not pass, you must retake the examination before you can be licensed. Submit a new registration form and the appropriate fee to PSI and schedule an appointment to retake the examination. In addition to the 60-hour pre-license course, students will be required to take the 36 hours of education that were originally required in the first 3 years. The new law will require that the three 12 hour courses (Listing Practices, Buying Practices and Developing Professional Conduct & Ethical Practices) be taken before a student can apply for a license.
